Remember when iPhone didn’t have the ability to Cut and Paste? Oh, the agony!

Next time we want to complain about re-typing a word or sentence (we’re so spoiled), we should think about what paragraph positioning used to involve… a very manual process for the editors!

Copy was positioned, pressed down with a brayer, or roller, cut out with knives and rulers, positioned on layout sheets on slanting layout tables, and then photographed.

No wonder there was only one newspaper per town – it probably employed everyone who lived there!
